• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address through Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
• Item Data: Photos you take of items, item names, categories, tags, and storage locations you create.
• Storage Structure: The organizational hierarchy you create (rooms, cabinets, drawers, etc.).

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version.
• Usage Data: How you interact with the app, features used, and error logs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the HomeDex service
• Process and display your item inventory
• Enable search and organization features
• Improve and optimize the app
• Send important service updates
• Provide customer support

3. AI Service Usage

HomeDex uses Google Gemini AI to analyze photos and automatically identify items. When you use this feature:

• What is sent: The photo you capture is sent to Google's servers for analysis.
• What is returned: Item name, category, tags, and other identifying information.
• Data retention: Google processes the image to generate results but does not use your photos for AI training.
• Your choice: You can opt out of AI analysis during onboarding or in settings. If you opt out, you can still use HomeDex by manually entering item information.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Gemini AI: For item recognition (optional, with your consent).

5. Data Storage and Security

• Local Storage: Your item data is primarily stored on your device using a local database.
• Cloud Sync: If you enable cloud backup, your data is encrypted and stored securely on our servers.
• Security Measures: We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data we have about you
• Export: Download your data in a portable format
• Delete: Delete your account and all associated data
• Opt-out: Disable AI features at any time

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• Your account information is deleted immediately
• Your item data is deleted within 30 days
• Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be retained

8. Children's Privacy

HomeDex is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from your child, please contact us.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable laws.
